Everything you need to remake your soap at home

Thank you for participating in the Veriere workshop "How to make your own homemade soap easily"! Here is the recipe to be able to remake your soap at home!

The ideal activity for young and old: no prerequisites necessary

The material

  • a Melt & Pour soap base
  • a knife
  • a teaspoon
  • a spatula
  • a saucepan
  • a bowl
  • water for the bain-marie
  • a hotplate
  • ingredients to add to your soap (coffee, cinnamon, lavender, ...)
  • small pastry molds

The steps:

  1. Cut the base into small cubes of around 50g
  2. Take a cube and cut it into small pieces
  3. Place these pieces in a large bowl in a bain-marie on your hotplate and wait for them to melt completely (5 to 10 minutes)
  4. Once the base has melted, remove the bowl from the bain-marie and add your favorite ingredients (example: a teaspoon of coffee or cinnamon, ten drops of essential oils, etc.)
  5. Mix gently with the spatula without whisking to avoid bubbles.
  6. Pour immediately into your favorite mold
  7. Wait 10 to 15 minutes for the soap to dry.
  8. Remove the soap from the mold and let it air dry for a few hours.
  9. Your soap is ready!

To go further:

Make creative Melt & Pour soaps with different colors! To do this:

  1. Pour into a mold the first mixture made with the soap base from the previous recipe (50g) with ingredients of one color (for example: coffee)
  2. Let it rest
  3. Meanwhile, redo the recipe with other ingredients that give a different color from the first (for example: a tiny bit of cinnamon)
  4. Check that the first coat has hardened
  5. Then pour the second layer
  6. Wait until everything hardens and unmold
